Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, self-motivated and task-oriented individuals to fill a vacancy that has arisen within the Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe (UMP) Zvataida Rural District Council. Reports to the E.O. Planning & Environment.

Job specification — the incumbent will be responsible, inter alia, for

Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of departmental records.

Assisting in the preparation of the district annual development plan and strategic plan, as well as rolling plans.

Producing layout plans for Rural Service Centres and business centres in conjunction with the head of department.

Assisting in the development of local plans and excision of communal land.

Facilitating pegging of stands at Rural Service Centres and business centres in consultation with the Department of Spatial Planning and Development.

Conducting development control in the district.

Conducting site inspections and feasibility assessments for proposed developments.

Issuing enforcement orders and prohibition orders, and recommending demolition orders for non-compliance with model building by-laws.

Assessment of building plans.

Any other council duty assigned by the supervisor

A National Diploma in Regional and Urban Planning or equivalent; a higher qualification is an added advantage.

At least two years' experience in a similar role in a local authority environment or public sector.

Distinct computer skills such as AUTOCAD, GIS and Survey.

Membership of a professional body is an added advantage.

Police clearance.

Must be at least 25 years of age.
