Waste disposal is also known as waste management which involves the collection, transport, treatment, disposal, monitoring, and regulation of waste and implementing strategies and practices to minimize the adverse effects of waste on the environment, human health, and planetary resources.

I live in the urban areas close to the municipal facilities I work

What are some important skills?

Handling hazardous materials and having knowledge of Waste Management Regulations is a skill that I have practiced and mastered. I also need to have knowledge over the maintenance of equipment we use and perfect documentation of waste management activities

What is your favourite part of your job?

Knowing that I am contributing to environmental protection and sustainability gives me satisfaction.

What are the main tools of the trade?

To handle, transport, and process waste efficiently and safely we use tools like Waste Bins and Containers for collecting and storing waste at its source, Waste Collection Vehicles for collecting waste from different sources and transporting it to the designated disposal facilities, Compactors that compress waste, reducing its volume and Personal protective equipment (PPE) for safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste.

What training have you had?

I acquired 5 O level passes

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I plan to be it the top management of waste management in my area of operation.
