I live in the same town as my retail shop, which is located in a regional centre.

What are some important skills?

The most important skill I should have is good communication to be able convey information, negotiate deals, and build relationships. Problem solving, leadership and analytical skills are very crucial so that I will be able to thrive in a competitive market.

What is your favourite part of your job?

Continuous learning and growing is the best part of my job especially getting feedback from customers and interacting with different people on a daily basis is great. Zimbabwe has been experiencing growth in its automotive sector, with an increasing demand for vehicles and related components. This growth presents employment opportunities for individuals interested in retailing.

What are the main tools of the trade?

The most important tool we use as retailers is the Point of Sale (POS) Systems which are used for processing sales transactions, including scanning and recording product sales, accepting different payment methods, and generating receipts. E-commerce platforms and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software are very essential skills as well.

I have acquired a Commerce Retail and Logistics Management bachelor's degree

In 10 years, I will be on the highest rank of a big retail company
