TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER REPORTS TO: DEPUTY DIRECTOR TRAINING
Job Summary Responsible for the identification, assessment and administration of the current training needs, draw training and development plan, help the different departments/units develop skills and knowledge accordingly and monitor training for effectiveness. |
Duties and Responsibilities |

Training Needs Assessment Identify and assess future and current training needs and requirements and develop a training plan based on the training priorities and budgets of the varying departments. Schedules training sessions, organises information technology and other equipment and manages course enrolment.
Organisational Capability Development Develop a training structure and materials and update the training manual using best practices to address the company’s specific capability needs. Reviews existing training materials from third parties to determine appropriateness and relevance and for quality assurance purposes.
Budgeting and Training Cost Management Manages costs for all programs. Prepare training budgets and manage costs as per the budget. Organise and conduct the train-the-trainer sessions for in-house trainers.
Knowledge Management Provide leadership and guidance in the formulation of organisational Knowledge Management (KM) policy frameworks. Take the lead and guide the coordination and exploitation of organisational knowledge resources to create benefit and competitive advantage. Lead efforts to capture and disseminate lessons generated from the OAG’s experience in delivering scaled-up audits, working collaboratively with colleagues from within the HR Unit. Maintain an understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods. Play a key role in knowledge integration and dissemination, as well as introducing new tools and technology that can enhance the function of the OAG. Collaborate closely with departments on the dissemination and communication of OAG knowledge. Monitoring and Coordination Monitors training programs and manuals to ensure that they are effective and up-to-date, and makes updates as necessary. Work with departmental managers to address learning issues and new training needs with regard to their respective departments and employees. Modifies or creates course materials and training manuals to meet specific training needs.
Reporting Record all the reports of training conducted by third parties. Provide summary reports of all the training sessions and activities carried out to management and portray their impact, respectively. |
Qualifications and Experience |

Educational Requirements Bachelor’s degree in human resource management. A Diploma in Human Resources Development. A member of IPMZ.
Job Experience 5 years’ experience in a Training and Development role.
