Job Description

Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome sector, has exciting and challenging career opportunities within its Shurugwi & South Dyke Mining Division

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced individuals

to fill the vacant posts of Mining Manager, Mine Planning Engineer, I.C.T Officer, Geologist and Security Officer on a 3 years Fixed-Term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Management of mining operations to ensure that set production costs and SHE targets are met.

 Mining contracts management to ensure that mining contractors fulfil their contractual obligations including the achievement of set production targets as well as legal compliance.

 Mine Design and Planning.

 Mining Projects Management.

 The provision of technical support to mining contractors.

 Budgeting and Cost Control.

 Development and coaching of subordinates.

 Mining stakeholder management.

Qualifications and Experience

 BSc. Degree in Mining Engineering or Equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution.

 Unendorsed Full Blasting Licence a must and a Mine Manager Certificate of Competency as an added advantage.

 At least 10 year’s post qualification experience, 3 years of which should have been at Mine Captain level, preferably in both surface and underground hard rock mining environments.

 Demonstrable experience in Gold Mining, Mining Contracts Management, Mine Planning and Design and Mining Project Management is a distinct advantage.

 Membership of a recognised engineering professional body.

 Working knowledge of safety management system(s) applicable to large scale mining operations/companies, preferably with exposure to the NOSA SHE System.

 Good working knowledge and experience of an ERP system, preferably SAP.

 Holder of a clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
