Job Description

Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome Production sector, has some exciting and challenging career opportunities at its Shurugwi & South Dyke Mining Division.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced individuals to fill the vacant posts in the Division on Fixed-Term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Reporting work-shift problems, incidences and production in real time.

 Continuous inspection of the plant (s) to identify ore/slimes loses, and ensure that production and SHE targets are met.

 Ensuring collection of gold ore samples and their delivery to the laboratory for analysis.

 Account for gold ore dispatches and receipts at the mine/plant.

 Ensuring security of company resources.

 Supervising and monitoring all gold mining operations.

Qualifications and Experience

 At least 5 Ordinary level passes including Mathematics and English.

 Diploma in Mining or Equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution is an added advantage.

 Mine Blasting License and a qualification in quality control is an added advantage.

 At least 3 years post qualification experience in a Mining or Mineral processing environment.

 Mining project management knowledge and experience is essential.

 Extensive knowledge in CIL (Carbon In Leach) plants.

 Sound knowledge of mineral resource management systems.

 Good working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP.

 Working knowledge of safety management systems, preferably with exposure to the NOSA SHE system.

 Holder of a clean Class 4 driver’s licence.
