Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance with the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

(b) University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services

(e) Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products

FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post) Full time

The Candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, and should be proficient in teaching Digital Image Processing, Cybersecurity, Computer Security, Artificial Intelligence, Programming languages, Databases, Computer Networks, Machine Learning, Operating Systems and Software Engineering.

-BSc Computer Science / BSc Computer Engineering / or an equivalent in the relevant field with at least a 2.1 pass.

-MSc Computer Science / MSc Computer Engineering / MSc Cybersecurity/ MSc Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence/ MSc Software Engineering or an equivalent in the relevant field.

-PhD in Computer Science/ PhD in Computer Engineering/ Studying towards the PhD in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or an equivalent in the relevant field is an added advantage.

-Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or an equivalent is an added advantage.

-Publications in peer reviewed journals are an added advantage
